An excerpt from the linkshell scribe : Darkmessenger

Dear friends,

I'm an old man, I have left the world of death, chaos, Dragon's Aery and Ridill drama a long time ago. I have forsaken the greatest warriors of Vana'Diel, and I swore to never return. But the past always comes back to haunt you. So I returned to face this past and to attend a glorious meat-fest somewhere in a god forsaken place to the North.

The past in this case was the protector of the Dragon King Ranperre, Vrtra. Finale encountered this purple fury too many times. In the past Vrtra feasted on our flesh, tore our defenses apart and mocked our Impervious Shields of Everlastingness. But that was the past. A past of inexperienced adventurers, MNK/DRKs, missed slingshots, and tyrannous leaders. But even when Finale evolved - and evolve we did - the mighty protector of the Dragon King always stood in our way.

Yesterday we made him pay dearly. It was different now. Vrtra, who in the past seemed to mock every attempt by us, turned into a mere Tiamat waiting for us to be released of it's pitiful existence.
The fresh young warriors for who I and other old men paved the path led us to a glorious victory. I do not deny that this new generation of superwarriors with more powerful possessions and golden weapons surpassed my abilities in every way. Even my vast amount of facial hair could not intimidate the brutal appearance of the new Finale. But that's alright. Vrtra is dead, we were victorious. And whole Vana'Diel will know Finale seemingly cleaved effortless through the purple dragon flesh and splattered the catacombs of King Ranperre with the great wyrm's blood.

Now it is up to Finale, the Indestructable Linkshell of Everlasting, to haunt the few demons of the past who have not yet met our fiery weapons and deadly spells.
